Siphoning septic tanks is a routine task for many residential communities, often needing to be done at regular intervals. Failing to clean the septic tank promptly can lead to a buildup of feces, causing drain backups and unpleasant odors. During rainy weather, it can even result in leaks from the septic tank, contaminating the community's living environment. In the past, using traditional vacuum trucks to siphon septic tanks was particularly麻烦, took a long time, and was not always thorough, often leaving behind a foul smell.
Caution for Cleaning Septic Tanks:
1. Individuals entering the septic tank must wear a mask and protective suit, and a safety belt equipped with a rope capable of supporting over 100 kilograms. The rope should be tied to a ladder extending outside the septic tank.
2. There should be two to three people on standby above the septic tank, constantly monitoring the conditions inside. If anything seems amiss, the staff cleaning the septic tank should be immediately retrieved.
3. Septic tanks typically have three manholes, each with two small holes. We need to open the holes on each manhole and wait for half an hour or an hour.
4. Use an iron hook to lift the manhole cover, then flush each well with firehose for about half an hour after opening. This will reduce the content in the septic tank significantly.
5. Insert a bamboo pole, approximately 5 meters in length, into the septic tank to measure the depth of the sludge and wastewater inside.
6. If the septic tank depth exceeds 1.5 meters, we will need to use bamboo ladders or other ladders that are about 1 meter deeper than the septic tank and place them inside.
Standard for cleaning septic tanks:
1. Remove and properly dispose of fecal sludge, stains, and waste from the septic tank.
2. Ensure all septic tank sewage within the service range does not overflow.
3. In case of abnormal situations such as septic tank overflow, arrive at the scene for processing within 8 hours upon receiving notification.
4. Appropriate precautions should be taken during the process of cleaning septic tanks.
Standard procedures for septic tank cleaning:
1. When pumping septic tanks, always remember to first open the tank's outer cover. At this point, connect the water pipe and pour water inside, as the feces and dirt in the septic tank become quite hard over time. Without water, it's difficult to pump it out. Next, prepare and connect the pump pipe, ensuring no air leaks. Don't insert the pump pipe into the bottom of the septic tank first. Use a stick to break up all the sludge inside. Then, let the pipe pass over the surface of the septic tank, utilizing the vacuum suction to remove all the surface dirt. If there's household waste, remove it first to prevent clogging the pipes, which can affect the pumping speed.
2. When pumping septic tanks, warning signs must be set up and perimeter fences should be installed around the septic tanks to prevent children or others in the neighborhood from inadvertently approaching. Falling into a septic tank would be a nightmare, and getting injured by a waste suction truck could cause unnecessary trouble. Therefore, proper precautions must be taken. Additionally, waste suction trucks should be promptly removed after being filled and replaced with another vehicle to continue working until the septic tank is completely pumped. After pumping, the site must be cleaned up and the cover of the septic tank secured to prevent accidents from occurring due to visibility issues. The perimeter fences and warning signs can then be removed, allowing normal use to resume. However, pumping septic tanks is not a one-time solution; it should be done every six months or every five to six months to ensure the normal operation of the drain pipes and prevent the septic tank from overflowing and affecting the surrounding living environment.
Cleaning requirements for septic tank cleaning:
1) Facilities at feces transfer stations (sites, docks) should be in good condition and clean. The feces and wastewater to be transferred should be stored in an enclosed pit. The pit should meet requirements for anti-seepage, anti-odorous gas diffusion, and anti-fly, and be equipped with fire and explosion prevention facilities.
2) Manure in the storage pit should be transported out promptly and must not overflow.
3) The manure discharge pipe should be intact and unobstructed, with valves fitting tightly without any damage or leakage.
4) During transshipment operations, feces must not contaminate water bodies or work areas. Wastewater from cleaning work areas should be properly treated before being discharged into the sewage network or collection pond; it must not be directly released into nearby water bodies.
5) When transferring human waste from collection vehicles to motor vehicles, the transfer operation should be closely coordinated, and it is prohibited to arbitrarily park fecal tanks, buckets, or hand-pushed fecal carts on main roads.
6) Caution is required when unloading manure, and it must not be spilled around the unloading point. After completion of the task, the unloading point and work area should be promptly cleaned.
7) Sewage transfer stations (sites, docks) must have measures to eliminate flies. No more than 3 flies per observation within the visible range, no maggots, and odor not exceeding level 4.
