Two different structures exhibit opposite properties. Linear structures can melt upon heating and have lower hardness and brittleness. Body structures are harder and more brittle. Plastics contain both types of high molecular structures; those made from linear high molecules are thermoplastic, while those made from body high molecules are thermosetting.
