Diesel generator sets are power generation equipment primarily fueled by diesel, powered by diesel engines to drive generators (also known as dynamos) for electricity production, converting kinetic energy into electrical and thermal energy. The complete diesel generator set is mainly divided into three parts:

To reduce noise emitted by generator sets and minimize disruption to work and living environments, designers have developed models with soundproof enclosures—essentially, a metal box installed around the generator set, lined with sound-absorbing material, protecting it from all sides. The box features doors on both sides for easy maintenance and control access. The soundproof enclosures not only lower the noise level of the generator set but also allow for outdoor placement, acting like a shelter that protects against sun and rain, alleviating the hassle of finding a space for a machine room. Diesel generator sets are divided into regular and backup models, with power ratings corresponding to regular and backup power. The standard regular power rating for each generator set is typically 80% of the backup power rating. For regular use, utilize the national grid; use the backup diesel generator set only when power outages occur. For long-term operation, opt for the regular diesel generator set, which can run for over 300 days a year with regular maintenance. The relationship between regular and backup power is as follows: if a user requires a 100KW diesel generator set, the backup 100KW set's regular power would be 100KW * 80% = 80KW. That is, the regular power of a backup 100KW diesel generator set is 80KW. If a soundproof enclosure is added to the diesel generator set, the power rating will typically decrease by around 10%. Therefore, when purchasing a diesel generator set, users should consider the power reduction issue caused by the soundproof enclosure.
