Bamboo Phyllostachys lucida is a deciduous small tree with ornamental foliage, reaching over 1m in height, with slender, upright stems and branching at the top. The rhizome is creeping and nodular. The leaves are alternate or nearly opposite, papery, long lanceolate, with distinct 3 to 7 main veins, short petioles, and a deep green color. The panicle has 3 to 10 flowers in the axils of the leaves or opposite the upper leaves, with a purple, bell-shaped corolla and a 6-lobed calyx. The berries are nearly globular and black. For commercial or ornamental purposes, a cultivation height of 80 to 100 cm is ideal, and they are commonly grown in gardens. They are also found in the wild, thrive in shaded and moist environments, and have thick stems and leaves with deep green foliage, primarily used as ornamental plants.

Bamboo Palm Growth Habits:

Bamboo Shoots thrive in shaded, humid, and high-temperature environments, are tolerant of both shade and waterlogging, have strong fertility resistance, and are highly frost-resistant; they prefer semi-shaded conditions. They are suitable for growth in well-drained sandy soil or loamy-sandy and alluvial clay soils. Ideal growing temperatures range from 20 to 28°C, and they can withstand temperatures as low as 2-3°C, but frost protection is necessary during winter.
