China began using flexible spigot cement pipes in the late 1990s, primarily employing sliding rubber gaskets for sealing at diameters larger than (dn1200), providing a flexible joint. The insertion depth of the joint is around 135mm, deeper than the socket. The interface has a relative angle of 1.5°, featuring excellent seismic resistance and effectively opposing uneven settlement of the foundation.
The foundation can be a gravel base or a concrete base, with installation speed faster than that of outlets. The manufacturing cost of flexible cement pipes is lower than that of socketed cement pipes. The grooves of socketed cement pipes are wider than those of flexible cement pipes, which increases excavation and backfilling.
