Communication processors are used to connect Siemens S7-300 PLC communication modules to various bus systems/communication networks, as well as for point-to-point connections. Point-to-point connection
Point-to-point connections via the processor (CP) offer a powerful and cost-effective alternative to traditional mid-span systems. Compared to bus systems, the benefits of point-to-point links are particularly evident when only a few (RS485) devices need to be connected to the SIMATIC S7.
CP easily connects third-party systems to SIMATIC S7. With its versatility, it supports various physical transmission media, data rates, and even allows for custom transmission protocols.
For each CP, we provide the configuration software package and an electronic manual on a CD, along with parameterized screen forms and standard function blocks for communication between the CPU and CP. The configuration data is stored in the CPU's system block and backed up. As a result, the new module can be immediately put into use when replacing modules.
The S7-300 interface module is available in three versions, each equipped with interfaces for different physical transmission media.
