Principle of Stainless Steel Float Switch
A float switch
A. A small float ball level switch is a simple and convenient level control component, featuring complex circuits that are not susceptible to interference.
Any liquid, pressure, or temperature can be used as long as the material is selected correctly.
Liquid Medium Properties and Buoyant Ball Relationship:
B. When the specific gravity of the liquid varies, the floating ball's movement position will change. Generally, when the SG is less than that of water, the portion of the floating ball submerged in the liquid will be relatively greater.
C. Reference product density for float switches is based on water (SG = 1). Therefore, when selecting a float, the specific gravity (SG) of the liquid level must be considered and should always be greater than the specific gravity indicated on the float specification. Otherwise, the float switch will not float.
D. For high viscosity, non-drying liquids, generally, it is advisable to use stainless steel float balls with a larger outer diameter.
E. The float switch operates by sensing the reed switch with a magnet, so the liquid level being measured should be free of iron filings. Otherwise, iron filings sticking to the float can prevent it from rising, affecting the operation of the float switch.
Application: The stainless steel float level switch is specifically designed for level detection, signal transmission, and switch alarm in various small and medium-sized atmospheric and pressure storage tanks. It is suitable for use with a wide range of hygienic, environmental-friendly, toxic, and strongly corrosive media containing concentrated acids or alkalis.
Two, our standard models of stainless steel ball float switches include: ZC-SS45I, ZC-SS80L, ZC-SS125I, ZC-SL2. Other specifications can be customized upon request. Installation types include: top mount, bottom mount, and side mount. The standard thread sizes we offer are: M10 coarse, M12 coarse, 1/4 coarse, 1/2 coarse, 1 inch coarse, 2 inch coarse, and 1/8 NPT. Flanges are available from DN50 to DN200, along with aluminum alloy, plastic, and explosion-proof junction boxes. Suitable for installation in various types of containers, tanks, water tanks, reservoirs, and water barrels.
Standard plastic float switches include: ZC-PP25I, ZC-PP31I, ZC-PP40I, ZC-PP44I, ZC-PP52I, ZC-PP73I, ZC-PP85I, ZC-PP100I. Side-mounted options are ZC-PL-1 and ZC-PL-2.
Three, Specifications for Buoy Switches and Ordering Information: 1. The total length of the switch is measured from the outer hexagonal flat to the buoy switch. 2. Then, measure the distance between the two springs and the buoy size; if there are multiple buoys, measure the distance between each buoy. 3. Measure the rod diameter and thread type. 4. Specify the number of wires, wire length, wire material, buoy action point (the position where the buoy opens or closes the circuit), installation method, required voltage and current, contact form (normally open or normally closed), temperature range, and more, based on the wiring method and the need to control water level.

Series combination form features
Plastic PP materials are non-toxic and suitable for food-grade applications, including liquids in water and edible oil mediums, as well as household appliances and products. Temperature range: -10 to +85°C.
PP+NBR buoyant balls have higher temperature resistance than all PP materials and lower density, suitable for diesel and lubricating oil products.
PVDF withstands temperatures up to 120 degrees Celsius, boasts strong resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, and features a finely crafted, durable structure.
All stainless steel type: Full stainless steel (high-temperature resistant), temperature resistance up to 200 degrees Celsius, suitable for high-temperature environments involving oils and waters.
Stainless steel + PP buoy balls are non-toxic, food-grade, and suitable for water medium products with specific rod lengths.
Stainless steel + NBR buoy ball can withstand higher temperatures, has a low specific gravity, and is suitable for oil medium products with specific rod lengths.
Stainless steel + explosion-proof junction box with temperature rating of 160° for large swimming pools, oil tanks, and pressure vessels. Rod length available up to 4 meters, multi-point liquid level control, with external explosion-proof junction box.
Ball float selection instructions:
Please select the appropriate float ball specifications based on the tested item's characteristics such as operating temperature, pressure, specific gravity, and resistance to acids and alkalis.
1. Temperature: PVDF float temperature is 120°C, PP float is 80°C, SUS304/316 is 200°C.
2. Buoy Sizes: PVDF Buoy - ф24*22*9.5, various sizes of plastic buoys available. Stainless Steel Buoys - ф125*125*23, ф75*75*23, ф51*61*15, ф45*56*15, ф42*50*15, ф40*35*15, ф38*26.5*9.5, ф28*28*9.5, ф24*24*9.5
3. Adhesiveness: Choose a float with a larger diameter and lower specific gravity to overcome the surface tension of the liquid.
4. Chemical Resistance: Plastic materials are suitable for environments with strong acids and alkalis. When temperature is a concern, stainless steel 304/316 material is recommended for its higher resistance to high temperatures. 5. Working Current Voltage: 50W/10W, 200VDC/110VDC; Current: 1.5A/0.7A
