The Difference Between Fleece and Double-Sided Cashmere
Double-faced cloth is a type of fabric, which is formed by using a felting machine to raise single or double yarns during the production process to create a natural fluffy surface. Generally made from natural materials like wool and cashmere, it offers an extremely smooth texture. Both sides are extremely refined, hence the name "double-faced cloth." Double-faced cloth cannot be stitched with machines and must be hand-stitched only.
The double-faced cashmere is incredibly soft, with higher prices. The market offers double-faced cashmere in 30%, 50%, and 70% grades. Double-faced cashmere clothing is less common, with more often seen in the 30% and 50% grades. Garments made from double-faced cashmere are light, comfortable, extremely warm, and feature excellent elasticity of the wool fibers.
The main differences between two-sided tweed and two-sided cashmere lie in three aspects.
1. Price: The price for two-sided tweed is relatively low, while two-sided cashmere is higher. Based on the standard 1.5m width, the basic price for pure cashmere fabric is around 1000 to 1300 yuan per meter.
2. Color perception: Place the cashmere coat under a light or in a well-lit area. A truly high-quality cashmere coat has a bright yet non-glaring color, even distribution of hues, fine texture, full nap, and a slightly glossy appearance under the light.
3. Texture - Cashmere overcoats offer a soft, smooth feel and are very comfortable to wear. Poor quality cashmere or wool overcoats are rough and itchy. Additionally, when you gently pull a cashmere overcoat taut and release it, a high-quality one should quickly return to its original shape. Lower quality ones, due to loose structure and poor elasticity, are more prone to distortion.
