The Chengdu Tianfu International Airport terminal area covers an approximate total floor area of 1.1 million square meters, including Terminal T1, Terminal T2, and projects such as the GTC and parking buildings. The subsequent construction involves the base trench fluidized soil stabilization project.
The basic technical route is: In response to the needs and geotechnical characteristics of Tianfu International Airport project, local soil is excavated and mixed with specific geosynthetic stabilizers. The mixture is uniformly blended using proprietary technology and specialized machinery to form a fluid material with high fluidity. It can be pumped for construction or unloaded autonomously, eliminating the need for vibration and pouring on-site. After curing, it forms a new type of geotechnical engineering material with certain strength, high water stability, low permeability, and long-term stability—the fluidized stabilized soil.
After thorough preliminary preparations, in November 2018, the fluidized soil was poured in the comprehensive pipeline gallery at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport. All parties involved are highly satisfied with the implementation results, marking the beginning of the utilization of fluidized soil within Sichuan Province.
The successful implementation of this project has broken through the technical bottleneck of using local shale soil to prepare fluidized stabilized soil, establishing an integrated technical system covering "material development, complete equipment, process optimization, and construction organization." This represents an overall advancement in fluidized stabilized soil technology, reaching a new technical height.
The design value for the unconfined compressive strength of the stabilized soil is: not less than 0.3 MPa after 3 days, not less than 0.5 MPa after 7 days, and not less than 0.8 MPa after 28 days. Control parameters for the production of flowing stabilized soil: lime-soil ratio (stabilizer to dry soil mass) not less than 0.15, wet density of the mixture not less than 1700 kg/m3. The slump of the stabilized soil mixture is controlled at 220mm ± 20mm, suitable for pumping construction without the need for vibration during pouring.
