The plastic underdrain is composed of a plastic core wrapped with a filter fabric assembly. The plastic core is primarily made of thermoplastic synthetic resin, modified and extruded into fine plastic strips in a molten state through a nozzle. These strips are then fused together at junctions by a molding device. The naming of the plastic drainage underdrain is divided into four parts: the first part is the code SM; the second part indicates the shape of the underdrain, with Y for circular and J for rectangular; the third part specifies the external dimensions of the underdrain, where a circular shape denotes the outer diameter of the core in millimeters.
If rectangular, it indicates the cross-sectional dimensions of the core (width x thickness, mm); the fourth part indicates the product's structure, with "K" indicating the product is hollow (single hole), and "D" indicating it is porous, with the number before "D" representing the number of holes. For example: A circular plastic drainage pipe gully with an outer diameter of 100mm has a single hole in the middle, and this type of plastic drainage pipe gully is coded as SMY100K. A rectangular plastic drainage pipe gully has a cross-sectional width of 150mm and thickness of 50mm, with a single hole in the middle.
This plastic drainage pipe is of the SMJ150 x 50K model. It forms a three-dimensional mesh structure. The plastic core body comes in various forms, including rectangular, hollow matrix, circular hollow circular, etc. This material overcomes the shortcomings of traditional blind gutters, featuring high surface porosity, good water collection properties, and a large void ratio.
Good drainage, high compressive strength, excellent pressure resistance, flexibility, adaptable to soil deformation, durable, lightweight, easy to install, significantly reduces labor intensity for workers, and high construction efficiency, thus widely welcomed by engineering departments and extensively applied.
