Plastic Molding Jigs

Mold injection molding is a processing method used for mass production of complex-shaped components. The specific principle involves: melting plastic raw materials by heating them, then pushing the melted material through a high-pressure injection by the screw of an injection molding machine into the mold cavity of a plastic mold, standard mold base factory, and after cooling and solidification, obtaining a plastic formed product.


Plastic molds consist of two parts: the moving mold and the fixed mold. The moving mold is mounted on the moving template of the injection molding machine, while the fixed mold is mounted on the stationary template. During injection molding, the moving and fixed molds close to form the gating system and the mold cavity. Standard mold frames are used, and when the mold is opened, the moving and fixed molds separate to allow for the removal of the plastic product.

The structure of plastic molds may vary greatly due to the type and properties of the plastic, the shape and structure of the plastic products, and the type of injection machine, among other factors. However, the basic structure remains consistent.




Mold
Molds, which are used in industrial production for injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, die casting, forging, or stamping to obtain the desired products through various methods such as casting, forging, stamping, etc. In short, molds are tools used for shaping items, consisting of various components. Different molds are made up of different components. They primarily process the shape of items by altering the physical state of the material being shaped. Molds are often referred to as "the industry." These tools, under the action of external forces, transform blanks into finished products with specific shapes and dimensions. They are widely used in cutting, die forging, cold heading, extrusion, powder metallurgy parts pressing, pressure casting, and the forming processes of engineering plastics, rubber, ceramics, and other products through plastic or injection molding. Molds have specific contours or cavity shapes, and the application of刃口-shaped contours allows the blank to separate along the contour lines (cutting). The application of cavity shapes enables the blank to acquire corresponding three-dimensional shapes. Molds typically consist of two parts: the moving mold and the fixed mold (or the male and female molds), which can be separated or combined. When separated, the finished product is removed; when combined, the blank is injected into the mold cavity to form the shape. Molds are precision tools with complex shapes, capable of withstanding the expansion force of the blank, and they have high requirements for structural strength, rigidity, surface hardness, surface roughness, and processing accuracy. The development level of mold production is one of the important indicators of the level of mechanical manufacturing.


Mold bases, also known as mold blanks or mold seats, serve as the foundation for molds, facilitating installation, providing support, protection, and connecting the key components (mold cores). Since mold blanks do not participate in the molding process, their shape does not change with the part design; it is only related to the size and structure of the parts. Therefore, mold blanks can be standardized. Mold frames, which are essentially mold blanks with similar shapes, only vary in size and thickness, making them easy to process after standardization. Mold blank factories can pre-process various sizes and specifications of mold blank parts (templates, guide pins) and then assemble them into complete mold blanks as per customer requirements. Standard mold blank specifications include Longji, Fortuna, HASCO, etc. Standard mold frame processing equipment primarily includes milling machines, grinding machines, and drilling machines. Milling and grinding machines process six surfaces to the specified dimensions. Drilling machines bore holes with lower precision requirements on the mold frame, such as screw holes, lifting ring holes, and threading. The basic requirement for a standard mold frame is to ensure smooth mold opening. The ease of mold opening is directly related to the precision of the four guide pin holes on the mold frame. Therefore, it is generally necessary to use CNC vertical machining centers for rapid drilling and boring to achieve the required precision.
