Reasons for obtaining EAC certificationEAC certification is a requirement for all businesses entering the Russian and surrounding markets, and it is essential for companies to understand this. If a company insists on obtaining single-country certification, such as the GOST-R certification for Russia, that is also acceptable, just not cost-effective and not allowing sales to other countries.

Agency issuing EAC certificates

The EAC certification system is similar to China's. Each of the three countries—Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan—has its own national standards authority, recognizing domestic certification bodies and testing laboratories, much like China's CNCA recognizes certification bodies and laboratories such as CQC and Tianjiu Research. If an institution is authorized with TPTC 017/2011, it can issue EAC certification for light industrial products. Since it's a union certification, an EAC certification issued by a Kazakhstani certification body, for instance, can also be used in Russia, without necessarily requiring it to be issued by a Russian body. However, due to Russia's larger size within the union, its certification bodies are also relatively numerous in quantity and capability. In summary, the final certificate must be issued by certification bodies from Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
