Metal Stair Loop Introduction
Step Rings are a new type of open-hole packing developed by the UK's Transmetallic Company. The Step Rings (CMR) have a height approximately half the diameter, with a conical flange on one side. Window holes are cut into the ring wall, and curved vanes extend towards the center. Due to the reduced height and the special structure of the conical flange, they not only improve the gas-liquid distribution within the packing layer but also increase the contact points between gas and liquid. This is beneficial for the convergence and dispersion of the liquid and the continuous renewal of the membrane surface, thereby enhancing mass transfer.

Metal Stair Loop Material
Common stainless steel, 304, 316, carbon steel, aluminum, etc.

Metal Stair Loop Application
Typical metal step ring packing for distillation towers, Model 76mm stainless steel step rings offer a 10-20% higher flux and a 30-40% lower pressure drop compared to鲍尔环packing. The separation efficiency is improved to varying degrees depending on the specific process. The step rings feature thin walls, heat resistance, large voids, high flux, and low resistance, making them particularly suitable for vacuum distillation towers. They are ideal for handling materials that are heat-sensitive, prone to decomposition, easy to polymerize, and susceptible to carbon buildup.

Metal Stair Step Ring Filler for Reflux Tower, Model 76mm Stainless Steel Stair Step Ring Features
1. Reduced Pressure Drop: The metal ladder ring has a large gap in the path of gas and liquid flow, with high throughput, effectively reducing pressure drop.
2. Increased Reactor Vessel Capacity: The increase in reactor vessel capacity is the direct cause of reduced pressure drop. The metal step rings position the reaction contact points away from pressure drop points associated with overflow, which means more gas-liquid can be processed, resulting in an expanded reactor vessel capacity.
3. Enhanced Anti-Fouling Ability: The directional position of the metal ladder ring maximizes the gap in the gas-liquid flow direction, allowing any solid sediment to pass through the packing layer with the gas-liquid flow.
4. Enhanced Reaction Efficiency: The metal step ring maximizes the vertical orientation of its surface, rather than parallel, which is particularly advantageous in mass transfer processes. Since reaction efficiency depends on the size of the contact surface, a parallel design would prevent the inner side of the ring from contacting the liquid, creating a dry surface. Dry surfaces play almost no role in mass transfer, but the vertical design of the metal step ring significantly reduces the likelihood of dry surfaces, thereby effectively improving the reaction rate.
