Mesh demister简介:

The mist eliminator is a gas-liquid separator that allows gas to pass through the pad of the mist eliminator, removing any entrained droplets. This standard (HG/T21618-1998) was revised based on the original chemical industry standards: HG5-1404-81, HG5-1405-81, and HG5-1406-81, combining practical experience with the mist eliminator and advanced technology from imported equipment.

Mesh demister structure:

The mesh demister is primarily composed of mesh blocks and supporting devices for fixing the mesh blocks. The mesh is a gas-liquid filter made of various materials, and the gas-liquid filter is made up of metal or non-metallic wires. The non-metallic wires of the gas-liquid filter are twisted from multiple non-metallic fibers, or they can also be single-strand non-metallic wires. This mesh demister not only filters out larger droplets suspended in the gas flow but also smaller and minute droplets, and is widely used in gas-liquid separation devices in industries such as chemicals, petrochemicals, tower manufacturing, and pressure vessels.

 

Application of Wire Mesh Demister:

Mesh demister (mist eliminator) is used to separate liquid droplets carried by gas in the tower, ensuring mass transfer efficiency, reducing valuable material loss, and improving the operation of the compressor after the tower. It is generally installed at the top of the tower. It can effectively remove mist droplets of 3-5 micrometers. If a demister is set between the trays, it not only ensures the mass transfer efficiency of the trays but also reduces the spacing between the plates. Therefore, the mesh demister is mainly used for gas-liquid separation. It can also be used as an air filter for gas separation. In addition, the mesh can serve as a buffer for various instruments in the instrument industry, acting as an electronic shield to prevent electromagnetic interference, etc. It is now widely used in industrial production in the chemical, petrochemical, sulfuric acid, light industry, metallurgy, machinery, and environmental protection sectors.

Mesh demister classification:

Metal wire mesh defoamer, plastic wire mesh defoamer, PP wire mesh defoamer, drawer-type wire mesh defoamer, embedded wire mesh defoamer, top-mounted wire mesh defoamer, bottom-mounted wire mesh defoamer, etc.

The Wavy Wire Mesh Demister, also known as the Wavy Type Demister or Wave-shaped Demister, conforms to the new standard HG/T21618-1998. In addition to integrating the features of HG5-1404-81, HG5-1405-81, and HG5-1406-81 wire mesh demisters, it boasts unique advantages and characteristics:

The mesh demister has significantly improved its de-misting effect, with gas flowing through the gas path and liquid through the liquid path, without any secondary carryover phenomena.

2. The web block is tilted at 45 degrees, increasing the filtering area by 15%, and it can adjust the airflow direction and speed for effective foam removal.

3.4-10mm deep wavy pattern, with a filtering efficiency of two layers in one layer, saving installation space and reducing the cost of the foam separator per unit.

Mesh Deaerator Working Principle:

As gas containing droplets rises at a certain speed through the mesh, the inertia of the droplets causes them to collide with and adhere to the fine mesh wires. The spreading of droplets on the wire surface and their gravitational settling lead to the formation of larger droplets that flow along the wires to the junction between two wires. The wettability of the fine wires, the surface tension of the liquid, and the capillary action of the wires cause the droplets to grow until the accumulated droplets' weight exceeds the combined force of the gas's upward force and the liquid's surface tension, causing the droplets to detach from the wires and fall. After passing through the mesh demister, the gas is essentially free of droplets. Separating droplets from the gas improves operating conditions, optimizes process parameters, reduces equipment corrosion, extends equipment lifespan, increases throughput, and recovers valuable materials, protects the environment, and reduces air pollution. The simple structure and compact size of the mesh demister ensure high demisting efficiency, low resistance, light weight, and ease of installation, operation, and maintenance. The demister has a collection efficiency of 98%-99.8% for droplets with a particle size of ≥3-5 μm, while the pressure drop through the demister is very low, only 250-500 Pa, which is beneficial for improving equipment production efficiency.

Mesh demister type:

1. The diameter range of the top-mounted mesh demister is DN300 to DN5200mm.

2. The pipeline diameter range of the under-dress type wire mesh demister is DN700 to DN4600mm.

Material of the wire mesh defoamer:

1. Stainless Steel: 304, 304L, 321, 316Ti, 316L, RS-2, NS-80, 317L, 904L, 310S.

Titanium and Titanium Alloys: TA2, TA10.

Nickel and Nickel Alloys: Pure Nickel N6, Ni200, Ni201, Hastelloy
