Viscoelastic anti-corrosion tape, also known as non-reinforced viscoelastic adhesive tape or sheeted viscoelastic paste, is another structural form product in viscoelastic anti-corrosion materials. It is made by applying a butyl rubber-modified polyisobutylene adhesive to a non-stick base material. Its structure differs from that of viscoelastic anti-corrosion tape in that it does not have a reinforcing mesh in the middle; its form is different from the block shape of viscoelastic anti-corrosion paste, instead being in a strip-like state. The viscoelastic anti-corrosion tape has excellent cold flow properties, can self-heal, possesses strong adhesive force, and excellent chemical resistance, with no cathodic spalling and prevents water intrusion and microbial corrosion. It does not peel off, harden, or crack, and its unique long-lasting effectiveness is very good. It is used for anti-corrosion purposes on various equipment and components, such as steel flanges, valves, and pump bodies, in industries such as oil and gas, refining, city gas, LNG, offshore platforms, chemicals, nuclear power, thermal power, material reserves, tap water, and wastewater treatment. Surface treatment requirements are low during use, no need for priming or preheating. Due to the high flexibility of the viscoelastic anti-corrosion tape, which is prone to damage, high-strength polyethylene adhesive tape, polypropylene adhesive tape, or other materials should be selected for external protection.
