Geotextile waterproofing mats are engineered for applications such as artificial lakes, landfill sites, underground parking garages, rooftop gardens, ponds, oil storage facilities, and chemical storage yards to prevent seepage. Made by filling high-expansive sodium bentonite between specialized composite geotextiles and non-woven fabrics, the needle-punched bentonite waterproofing pads create numerous small fiber spaces that prevent bentonite particles from flowing in a single direction. When exposed to water, these pads form a uniform, high-density gel-like waterproof layer inside, effectively preventing water leakage.
Waterproof Features:
Tightness
Sodium-based bentonite forms a high-density diaphragm under hydrostatic pressure. At a thickness of approximately 3mm, its permeability is below &×10ˉ11m/sec, equivalent to the compactness of 100 times that of 30cm-thick clay, and it possesses strong self-water-retaining properties.
Waterproof
Because sodium-based bentonite is a natural inorganic material, it does not undergo aging or corrosion even after a long time or changes in the surrounding environment, thus ensuring long-lasting waterproof properties.
Easy construction, short lead time
Compared to other waterproofing materials, installation is relatively simple, requiring no heating or adhesive. Just connect and secure with bentonite powder, nails, and washers. No special inspection is needed after installation, and repairs are easy if any waterproofing defects are found. GCL is known for its short installation period among existing waterproofing materials.
Not affected by temperature
Will not crack under cold weather conditions.
Integrated
Integrated waterproofing materials and objects: Sodium bentonite has a swelling capacity of 20-28 times when it comes into contact with water. Even if concrete structures experience vibrations and settlements, the bentonite within the GCL can repair cracks on the concrete surface up to 2mm in width.
Green and eco-friendly
Bentonite is a natural inorganic material, harmless and non-toxic to humans, with no particular impact on the environment, and boasts excellent environmental protection properties.
Product Features
High performance-to-price ratio, widely applicable. The product range can reach 6 meters, significantly enhancing construction efficiency.
Application Range and Conditions: Suitable for landfill, water conservancy, environmental protection, artificial lake, and underground waterproofing and seepage prevention in construction projects.
It can be applied in sub-zero temperatures (-20℃) where traditional waterproofing materials cannot be used; it can also be applied on damp substrates (without standing water); it should not be used in rainy or snowy weather; it is not suitable for prevention against strong acidic or alkaline solutions; due to its inorganic nature, bentonite offers better durability than organic waterproofing materials.
