Geotextile waterproofing mats are engineered materials used for preventing leakage in artificial lakes, landfill sites, underground garages, rooftop gardens, ponds, oil storage facilities, and chemical storage yards. They consist of highly expansible sodium bentonite filled between specially designed composite geotextiles and nonwoven fabrics. The needle-punched bentonite waterproofing pads form numerous small fiber spaces, preventing the bentonite particles from flowing in one direction. When water is present, these spaces create a uniform, high-density gel-like waterproof layer within the pad, effectively stopping water leakage.
Waterproof Features:
Integrity
Sodium bentonite forms a high-density diaphragm under hydraulic conditions. At a thickness of approximately 3mm, its permeability is below &×10ˉ11m/sec, equivalent to the compactness of 100 times that of 30cm thick clay, and it possesses strong self-water-retaining properties.
Waterproof properties
Because sodium-based bentonite is a natural inorganic material, it does not undergo aging or corrosion even after a long time or changes in the surrounding environment, thus ensuring its waterproof performance remains durable.
Easy installation, short construction period
Compared to other waterproofing materials, installation is relatively simple and doesn't require heating or adhesive. Just connect and secure with bentonite powder, nails, and washers. No special inspection is needed after installation, and any waterproofing defects are easy to repair. GCL is the shortest in terms of installation time among existing waterproofing materials.
Not affected by temperature
Will not脆break under cold climatic conditions.
Integrated
Integrated waterproof materials and objects: Sodium bentonite expands up to 20-28 times when it comes into contact with water. Even if concrete structures vibrate or settle, the bentonite within the GCL can repair cracks on the concrete surface up to 2mm in width.
Green and environmentally friendly
Bentonite is a natural inorganic material, harmless and non-toxic to humans, with no significant impact on the environment, and boasts excellent environmental protection properties.
Product Features
High performance-to-price ratio, with extensive applications. The product range reaches up to 6 meters, significantly enhancing construction efficiency.
Application Scope and Conditions: Suitable for landfill, water conservancy, environmental protection, artificial lakes, and underground waterproofing and seepage prevention projects in construction.
Operable at sub-zero temperatures (-20℃) where traditional waterproofing materials cannot be applied; can be used on damp substrates (without standing water); not suitable for construction during rain or snow; not recommended for use with strong acidic or alkaline solutions; due to its inorganic nature, bentonite offers better durability than organic waterproofing materials.
