Traffic sign posts, also known as road sign posts or highway sign posts, are upright poles used alongside highways to indicate traffic routes. They are made from steel pipes and are coated with hot-dipped galvanized finish.
Traffic sign posts generally include single-column traffic sign posts and multi-column traffic sign posts.
The inner edge of the column sign should not intrude into the road construction boundary, generally not less than 25cm from the outer edge of the carriageway or pedestrian path or the shoulder of the unpaved road. The height of the bottom edge of the traffic sign board from the road surface is as follows: not less than 5500mm on expressways, not less than 5000mm on national and provincial roads. When installed on urban roads with a higher proportion of small vehicles, the height from the ground to the bottom edge can be adjusted according to the actual situation, but should not be less than 120cm.
When installed along a road with pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles, the height should be greater than 180 cm.
