Advantages of extrusion granulation:
1) Energy-saving and Consumption Reduction - Extrusion granulation is a granulation process carried out at room temperature, which, compared to other methods, does not require fuel or gas for drying measures.
2) No additional adhesive needed; domestic mixed fertilizer production commonly uses steam granulation.
Steam condenses and crystallizes between material molecules, acting as a binder during the manufacturing process. However, during the drying process, it is essential to expel moisture from both the interior and surface of the granules, otherwise, the fertilizer is prone to caking and agglomeration during storage. Dry granulation, on the other hand, does not require additional additives; it merely utilizes the intermolecular forces of the material, simplifying the process and reducing energy consumption.
3) Lower Investment: Due to the elimination of the drying process and a lower return material ratio (about 15% of the total feedstock for the extruder), the production process is simplified, resulting in lower investment.
4) Flexible Raw Material Composition - The granulation extrusion production process has a broad range of raw material routes, and more than 20 types of materials have been successfully used for granulation extrusion, including ammonium nitrate, urea, ammonium chloride, calcium nitrate, potassium chloride, potassium sulfate, etc. Additionally, the granulation extrusion process allows for flexible changes in product formulations in extremely short timeframes, with a single unit capable of producing over 30 different formulations.
