By blending solid particles
Over 40 years of successful practice in producing various blended fertilizers (BB fertilizers) through mixing solid granular raw materials has made it a major variety in the fertilizer sales of some countries. This article briefly introduces the production process and equipment for blended fertilizers.
I. Blended fertilizer production process
The production process flow of BB fertilizer is shown in the following diagram, with the main control points being weighing (continuous), mixing, and anti-segregation control.
Two, Blending Equipment
1. Blending Equipment - Blending equipment is a crucial factor in the production of blended products. There are various designs of mixers, including rotating drum mixers, cone tilting mixers, fixed mixers with built-in paddles, vertical mixers, and variable pitch screw volumetric mixers, among others.
2. Prevent Agglomeration During Filling Process - It is crucial to avoid agglomeration during the production process after raw material mixing, including during lifting, drop points and angles, material storage design (requiring specialized anti-agglomeration design), filling process, stacking for storage, and the entire transportation and loading/unloading process.
3. Quality Control Basics: It is mandatory to retain all formulas, batch records, quality or volume settings, raw material analysis, and source documentation. Calibration of weighing equipment and flow rate detection must be conducted in accordance with control procedures.

4. Operations Management - All staff must possess complete written operating instructions, and operational procedures should be documented and reviewed regularly.
III. Conclusion
Although the production process of BB fertilizer is simple, it requires high technical expertise and is not easy to produce high-quality products. As market competition intensifies, the quality requirements for fertilizers are also increasing. Technological advancement is the premise for quality improvement. While referencing foreign quality control techniques, continuous improvement and adaptation to the domestic situation are necessary.
The production of granular raw materials for various blended fertilizers (BB fertilizer) has been successfully practiced for over 40 years and has now become a major variety in the fertilizer sales of some countries.
