Polycarbonate, commonly abbreviated as PC, also known as bulletproof plastic, is a non-crystalline thermoplastic engineering plastic.Polycarbonate exhibits excellent creep resistance among thermoplastic engineering plastics, even surpassing nylon and POM. The dimensional changes due to moisture absorption and cold flow deformation are minimal, which is a significant indicator of its excellent dimensional stability. Polycarbonate has poor resistance to cyclic stress. Some polycarbonate components used for wear-prone applications require special surface treatment.Used for manufacturing large lampshades, protective glass, ocular tubes for optical instruments, and also for transparent materials and electronic appliances on aircraft.
