POM is a crystalline plastic with a density of 1.42 g/cm³. It boasts excellent rigidity and is commonly referred to as "Super Steel."It boasts excellent properties such as fatigue resistance, creep resistance, wear resistance, heat resistance, and impact resistance, with a low coefficient of friction and good self-lubrication.POM is moisture-resistant with an absorption rate of 0.22-0.25%. It maintains good size stability in humid conditions, with a shrinkage rate of 2.1% (higher). Size control can be challenging during injection molding, and its heat deflection temperature is 172°C. There are two types of polyoxymethylene: homopolymer and copolymer, which have different properties (homopolymer has better temperature resistance). When polyoxymethylene is above 230°C (446°F) or when molten polymer comes into contact with strong acids, oxidizers, or polyvinyl chloride, TENAC™ (Iron-Nic) will decompose. When the polymer is at or above 250°C (482°F) or when molten polymer contacts strong acids, oxidizers, or polyvinyl chloride, TENAC™-C (Iron-Nic-C) will decompose. If small particles spill into the work area, they should be cleared immediately to prevent slipping.
