Polyoxymethylene, commonly known as POM in English, is also referred to as polyoxymethylene material in Chinese. Its regular molecular structure and crystallinity give it excellent physical and mechanical properties, earning it the nickname "metal-plastic." It is a type of synthetic resin, also known as polyformaldehyde resin, POM plastic, and Sike steel material, etc. It is a white or black plastic granule with high hardness, high stiffness, and high strength.POM material has a water absorption rate greater than 0.2%, and should be pre-dried before molding. The melting and decomposition temperatures of POM are close, with poor molding properties. It is suitable for injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, calendering, welding, bonding, coating, printing, electroplating, machining, with injection molding being a key process. It has a high molding shrinkage rate, so the mold temperature should be higher, or annealing treatment should be performed, or reinforcing materials (such as alkali-free glass fiber) should be added.主要用于 gears, bearings, automotive parts, machine tools, instrument interiors, toys, and other products that serve as a skeletal structure.
