POM, known in Chinese as polyoxymethylene, is also referred to as polyformaldehyde. Its regular molecular structure and crystallinity give it excellent physical and mechanical properties, earning it the nickname "metal-plastic."Polymethyl methacrylate (POM) is a white powder, generally opaque, with good coloring properties. Its density ranges from 1.41 to 1.43 g/cm³, with a molding shrinkage of 1.2-3.0%. The molding temperature is between 170-200°C, and the drying conditions are 80-90°C for 2 hours. POM has moderate long-term heat resistance but can reach up to 160°C in the short term. Homopolymer POM has a higher short-term heat resistance than copolymer POM by over 10°C, but the long-term heat resistance of copolymer POM is about 10°C higher than that of homopolymer POM. It can be used over a long period at temperatures ranging from -40°C to 100°C. POM is highly susceptible to decomposition at 240 degrees Celsius, during which it emits刺激性 and corrosive gases. Therefore, mold steel should be made from corrosion-resistant materials.Used for manufacturing water supply casements, lavatories, water tanks, curtain roller, water meter enclosures, and pipe fittings.
