POM is obtained by polymerization with formaldehyde as the raw material. It exhibits excellent physical, mechanical, and chemical properties, particularly superior friction resistance. POM is a crystalline plastic with a distinct melting point. Once the melting point is reached, the melt viscosity drops rapidly. Exceeding a certain temperature limit or allowing the melt to be overheated for too long can lead to decomposition. Copper acts as a catalyst for POM degradation, so copper or copper materials should be avoided in areas where POM melt comes into contact.POM boasts a low coefficient of friction and excellent geometric stability. It is also known for its high-temperature resistance, making it suitable for pipeline components such as valves and pump housings, as well as lawn equipment. POM is a tough and elastic material that maintains excellent resistance to creep, geometric stability, and impact even at low temperatures. The high crystallinity of POM results in a relatively high shrinkage rate, which can reach up to 2%~3.5%. Different enhanced materials exhibit varying shrinkage rates.
