Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) is a smooth, glossy, hard, and dense material, ranging in color from pale yellow to white, with thin-walled sections appearing semi-transparent. It is highly flammable, continues to burn after being removed from the flame, with the flame tip yellow and the base blue, and emits molten droplets. It has a strong刺激性 formaldehyde odor and a fishy smell.POM can be processed without prior drying, and preheating (around 80°C) during processing benefits the dimensional stability of the product.POM processing temperature is very narrow (0~215℃), it will decompose and produce strong刺激性甲醛 gas if it stays in the barrel too long or the temperature exceeds 220℃.During POM material injection molding, the holding pressure should be relatively high (close to the injection pressure) to minimize pressure drop. The screw speed should not be too high, and the residue should be minimal.POM products have a high shrinkage rate, prone to warping or deformation. POM has a high specific heat, requiring a high mold temperature (80-100℃), making the product very hot upon demolding, so caution is needed to prevent burns.
