POM, also known as polyoxymethylene, is commonly referred to as polyformaldehyde, or by its trade names, Sain and Terylene. It is a high crystalline polymer, consisting of homopolymers of polyoxymethylene chains formed by formaldehyde, and copolymers formed by trioxane, ethylene oxide, and other compounds.Polymethyl methacrylate is a smooth, glossy, hard and dense material, ranging from pale yellow to white, with translucent thin walls.Polymethyl methacrylate (POM) is a white powder, generally opaque, with good coloring properties. Its density ranges from 1.41 to 1.43 grams per cubic centimeter, with a shrinkage rate of 1.2-3.0% during molding. The molding temperature is between 170-200°C, and the drying conditions are 80-90°C for 2 hours. POM has moderate long-term heat resistance but can reach up to 160°C in the short term. Homopolymer POM has a higher short-term heat resistance than copolymer POM by over 10°C, but the long-term heat resistance of copolymer POM is approximately 10°C higher than that of homopolymer POM.Used for manufacturing handles of electric wrenches, switch handles, and also for producing parts of telephones, radios, recorders, video recorders, televisions, computers, fax machines, timer components, and tape holders for recorders.
