Polymethyl methacrylate (POM) is a white or black plastic granule with high hardness, stiffness, and properties. Commonly known as "Super Steel" or "Steel Conqueror," it is the third-largest general-purpose engineering plastic.POM boasts excellent comprehensive properties, fatigue resistance, creep resistance, and good electrical properties. Applications include automotive, mechanical manufacturing, electrical appliances, precision instruments, etc. It is a thermoplastic crystalline polymer known as "super steel" or "racing steel." Its melting point for homopolymer POM is around 180°C. It is strong, elastic, maintains good creep resistance at low temperatures, and has excellent geometric stability and impact resistance. POM can be categorized into homopolymers and copolymers. Homopolymers offer excellent elongation strength and fatigue resistance but are not easy to process. Copolymers, on the other hand, have excellent thermal and chemical stability, are easy to process, and have low water absorption. The high crystallinity of POM results in a relatively high shrinkage rate, up to 2% to 3.5%, which varies for different reinforced materials.Ideal for manufacturing wear-resistant parts, transmission parts, and components for chemicals, instruments, etc. Primarily used for products that serve as frameworks for gears, bearings, automotive parts, machine tools, and internal instruments.
