Polysulfone, abbreviated as PPS, is a thermoplastic resin with a benzene sulfide group in its molecular backbone, and it is a crystalline polymer. The molding shrinkage rate of PPS resins is very low after being compounded, less than 0.0025%, with an absorption rate less than 0.05% and a low linear thermal expansion coefficient. It maintains excellent dimensional stability under high temperature and high humidity conditions.PPS resins offer excellent flowability, allowing for various processing and shaping methods. Even after fiber reinforcement or filling, they remain suitable for injection molding complex and thin-walled parts.PPS boasts excellent radiation resistance, flame retardancy, balanced physical and mechanical properties, and superior dimensional stability, as well as good electrical properties. It is used as a structural polymer material and, after filling and modification, as a special engineering plastic. Additionally, it can be produced into various functional films, coatings, and composite materials, achieving successful applications in the fields of electronics, electrical appliances, aerospace, and automotive transportation.
