Polysulfone, also known as polyphenylsulfone, is a thermoplastic resin with a benzene sulfone group in its molecular backbone. Polysulfone is a crystalline polymer.Unstretched fibers have a large amorphous region (crystallinity of about 5%), releasing crystallization heat at 125°C, with a glass transition temperature of 150°C; the melting point is 281°C. During stretching, the fibers develop some crystallization (increasing to 30%), and if the stretched fibers are heat-treated at temperatures between 130-230°C, the crystallinity can be increased to 60-80%. Consequently, the stretched fibers do not exhibit a significant glass transition or crystallization heat release, and their melting point is 284°C.Used for bearings, pumps, valves, pistons, precision gears, as well as parts for copiers, cameras, computers, conduits, sprayers,喷油嘴nozzles, and instrument parts. Also used in the manufacturing of acid and alkali-resistant valves, pipes, fittings, gaskets, and corrosion-resistant components such as submersible pumps or impellers.
