Polyamide, commonly known as Nylon, is a general term for thermoplastic resins that contain repeated amide groups [NHCO] in the molecular backbone. It includes aliphatic PA, aliphatic aromatic PA, and aromatic PA.PA6 isPAVarieties in the series with high mechanical strength and broad applications, due to their high crystallinity, exhibit high rigidity and heat resistance. These are translucent or opaque, milky white crystalline polymers with plasticity. Density is 1.15 g/cm³. Melting point is 252°C. Brittle temperature is -30°C. Thermal decomposition temperature is greater than 350°C. Continuous heat resistance is 80-120°C, with a balanced water absorption rate of 2.5%. Resistant to corrosion from acids, alkalis, most inorganic salt solutions, halogenated alkanes, hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, etc., but easily soluble in phenol and other polar solvents. They possess excellent wear resistance, self-lubricating properties, and high mechanical strength. However, they have high water absorption, leading to poor dimensional stability.
