The residential gate system is a specialized equipment for controlling the entry and exit of motor vehicles on roads, now widely used at highway toll gates, parking lots, residential complexes, and corporate entrances for vehicle management. Electric gates can be independently operated by remote control to raise or lower the barrier arm, or they can be actively managed through the parking management system (i.e., IC card access system). Depending on the application, the gate arms can be straight, 90-degree curved, 180-degree folding, or grille gates.
When a vehicle passes over the ground induction loop, an inductive signal is transmitted to the vehicle detector, which then triggers two relay signals: one for entry into the loop and another for exit. Each set includes both normally open and normally closed signals. Additionally, the boom gate typically has a ground induction infrared input interface. Normally, the vehicle detection signal is connected to the infrared interface. The gate opens when a vehicle arrives and closes when the vehicle passes. If the vehicle touches the induction loop, the gate does not automatically open. However, if the supplier's product lacks an infrared interface, or if the interface is damaged, or if the new vehicle detector and infrared interface are not compatible, they connect the detector's two signals to the boom gate's open and close ports. This still ensures the gate closes automatically when the vehicle passes and prevents it from closing when the vehicle is parked. The only drawback is that the gate may open if the vehicle is pressed against the induction loop. Another situation is an issue with the gate control board or the card reader main board, which can be determined by inspecting the wiring on-site.
