The residential gate system is a specialized equipment for handling the entry and exit of motor vehicles on roadways, now widely used at highway toll gates, parking lots, residential communities, and corporate entrances to manage vehicle in and out. Electric gates can be operated independently via remote control to lift or lower the bar, or can be actively managed through the parking system (i.e., IC card payment system). Depending on the application, the gate bars can be straight, 90-degree curved, 180-degree folding, or grille-style.
When a vehicle passes through the ground induction loop, an inductive signal is transmitted to the vehicle detector, which then activates two relay signals: one for the entry into the ground induction loop and another for the exit. Each set includes both normally open and normally closed signals. Additionally, the boom gate typically has a ground induction infrared input interface. Normally, the vehicle detection signal is connected to the ground induction infrared interface, with the boom gate opening when a vehicle approaches and the barrier lowering automatically as the vehicle passes. However, if the supplier's product lacks a ground induction infrared interface, or if the interface is damaged, or if the new vehicle detector and ground induction infrared interface are not compatible, they connect the vehicle detector's two signals to the boom gate's open and close ports. This still ensures the barrier lowers automatically as the vehicle passes and prevents accidental lowering when the vehicle touches the ground induction loop. The only drawback is that the barrier may open if the vehicle is pressed against the ground induction loop.
