Heat treatment specifications for 17-4PH:
Heat Treatment Specifications:
Solution treated at 1020-1060°C, followed by rapid quenching.
2. After solution heat treatment at 480℃ and air cooling between 470～490℃.
3. After solution heat treatment at 550℃, air cool to 540-560℃.
4, After solution heat treatment at 580°C, air cool at 570～590°C.
5, Age-hardened after solution heat treatment at 620°C, followed by air cooling at 610-630°C.
Metallographic Structure: Characterized by precipitation hardening.
17-4PH alloy is a precipitation-hardened, martensitic stainless steel composed of copper and niobium/tantalum.
This grade features high strength, hardness (up to 300°C/572°F), and corrosion resistance.
After heat treatment, the product's mechanical properties are further improved, achieving a pressure-bearing strength of up to 1100-1300 MPa (160-190 ksi).
This grade is not suitable for temperatures above 300℃ (572℉); however, it exhibits excellent corrosion resistance against air, diluted acids, and salts. Its corrosion resistance is comparable to that of 304 and 430 grades.
