904L Stainless Steel Manufacturer Warranty | Long-term Supply of 904L Seamless Steel Tubes
Shanghai Gushuo supplies seamless 904L stainless steel tubes. Welcome to inquire and purchase!
Super Austenitic stainless steel 904L is a low-carbon, high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance in dilute sulfuric acid, specifically designed for environments with severe corrosion conditions. It boasts high chromium and sufficient nickel content, with added copper enhancing its strong resistance to acids, particularly against chloride pitting and stress corrosion cracking. It is less prone to corrosion spots and cracks, with slightly better resistance to pitting corrosion than other steel grades, and offers good machinability and weldability, suitable for pressure vessels.
Grade and standard of 904L stainless steel:
UNS N08904 (a standard jointly designed by the Society of Automotive Engineers and the American Society for Testing and Materials in 1967)
DIN 1.4539 (German Standard)
ASTM A240 (American Society for Testing and Materials standard; the new standard categorizes it as a stainless steel series, while the original standard ASME SB-625 classified it as a nickel-based alloy series)
SUS890L。
Welding properties of 904L stainless steel:
Like most stainless steels, 904L can be welded using various welding methods. Common methods include manual arc welding or inert gas shielded welding. The welding rod or wire metal is based on the base material's composition with higher purity, and the molybdenum content is required to be higher than the base material. Generally, preheating is not necessary before welding, but in cold outdoor conditions, to prevent condensation of moisture, the joint area or adjacent areas can be uniformly heated. Note that the local temperature should not exceed 100℃ to avoid carbon precipitation and intergranular corrosion. During welding, it is advisable to use a small wire energy, continuous, and fast welding speed. Generally, heat treatment is not required after welding; if heat treatment is necessary, it must be heated to 1100~1150℃ and then rapidly cooled.
