Nitronic 50 stainless steel supply, Nitronic 50 round bar in stock

Nitronic 50 stainless steel is a highly formable, weldable, nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel. Its counterpart, XM-19, boasts excellent resistance to sulfur stress cracking in air. The machinability of XM-19 stainless steel is comparable to 316 or 317 alloys. It has twice the yield strength of 316-type stainless steel and similar corrosion resistance. Even after extreme forming, XM-19 stainless steel remains non-magnetic. However, it has higher springback than other austenitic stainless steels. Cold working is recommended for achieving greater hardness. Due to its high work-hardening tendency, XM-19 requires stress relief annealing on the workpiece after forming.

Nitronic 50 stainless steel applications
Corrosion resistance and mechanical strength are combined for use in ship hardware, pump shafts, petrochemicals, pulp and paper, food processing, and the oil industry. Due to its resistance to sulfur stress cracking, it is also suitable for "downhole" applications.
