The Fēizǐxiào is a variety of litchi, also known as Luòtángpú and Yùhébāo. The late Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu wrote: "A single horse gallops through the red dust, the concubine smiles, no one knows it's litchi arriving." That's how the variety Fēizǐxiào got its name.

This variety features large fruits, thick flesh, beautiful color, small seeds, and sweet taste, with excellent quality and flavor. It is primarily distributed in regions such as Guangdong and Guangxi, and is one of the early-maturing varieties.

The Fēizǐxiào variety boasts characteristics of robust growth, ease of propagation, tolerance to rich soil, preference for water, thick branches, and large leaves. This variety is relatively sensitive to calcium deficiency in the soil. Under conditions where calcium fertilizer has not been applied for several years, the leaves gradually become smaller, the branches shorter, and the tips and edges of the leaves turn yellow.

This variety is "early maturing, between March Red and Black Leaf, with large fruit." The fruit ripens from late May to mid-June. The fruit of this variety is sweet and edible before it turns red, but the quality declines once fully red and overripe.
