Product Introduction

The Williams variety, introduced to Guangdong from Australia in 1981, is an excellent cultivar of the medium bunch banana. It has pseudo-stems measuring 2.5-2.8 meters high, slightly thinner pseudo-stems, a stem shape ratio of 4.7, longer leaves that are slightly upright, and a leaf shape ratio of 2.5. The fruit bunches are long, of medium size, with many rackets, fewer fruits, wide spacing between rackets, and good racket shape. The fruit fingers are 19-23 centimeters long, with average quality. Yield per plant ranges from 20-30 kilograms, with some reaching up to 40 kilograms. This variety boasts good fruit appearance, uniform fruit bunches, high and stable yields, making it one of the most planted varieties among the test tube seedlings. However, it has better wind resistance but is prone to leaf curl and heart rot disease during the initial stage of seedling planting. The Guangdong New District Fruit Test Tube Seedling Development Base has bred the 8818 variety from the superior变异 clones of the Williams variety, and it is currently the second most popular variety locally, after the Brazil banana variety.
