The Sai Gon banana belongs to the powder banana type, also known as powder sand banana, rice banana, glutinous rice banana, and egg banana. It was introduced from Vietnam around 1932 and is the main cultivated variety in Nanning, Guangxi, and Longzhou areas. It has been introduced in various production areas.
