Commonly, jackfruit mutations with thick flesh and a golden yellow color are discovered from the seedling group of jackfruit at the Maoming Fruit Test Field in the Lu Section Village Committee of Yangjiao Town, Maohua District, Maoming City. These mutations are researched by the Maoming Fruit Science Research Institute,South China Agricultural University, College of HorticultureSelect and breed.

The fruit is free of resin after ripening, with thick, golden yellow bract flesh, offering a crisp texture and rich aroma. Multi-site trials and planting were conducted from 2000 to 2007, demonstrating high yield, excellent quality, resin-free, late ripening, and stable characteristics. It matures 20 to 25 days later than the local common dry bract jackfruit. The soluble solids content is 26.88% to 28.13%, and no pectin was detected. It boasts comprehensive excellent qualities.

After years of multi-point trial planting, the grafted seedlings show high yields. They start flowering and bearing fruit within 2 to 3 years after planting. The average yield per tree at 3 years is 20 kg, and at 5 years, it is 82 kg.
