Premium Direct Sale 440 Stainless Steel Balls - High Hardness, Wear-Resistant, Rust and Corrosion-Proof, Acid and Alkali Resistant 440C Stainless Steel Balls
Application Fields:440C stainless steel balls are commonly used in industries that demand high precision and corrosion resistance, such as aviation, aerospace, bearings, motors, high-precision instruments, valves, and petroleum.
Features:Microstructure belongs to Martensitic steel, with high production process requirements; domestically, stainless steel can be produced.440C is less common in the market, so companies capable of producing 440C material are often hailed as the epitome of special stainless steel. The heat treatment process is complex, prone to cracking, and requires high precision; it is one of the harder stainless steel balls, with hardness comparable to ball bearings but boasts superior corrosion and rust resistance.
Comparison:Compared to 440 stainless steel ball bearings, these have superior rust and corrosion resistance, increased hardness, and improved wear resistance as well.

Magnetic
All Austenitic stainless steel balls are typically non-magnetic; after cold working, some magnetism may be noticeable. Standard:ISO3506 GB/T
Characteristics of magnetic permeability for various materials, also applicable to stainless steel. Only in a vacuum can a material be completely non-magnetic. Material in a magnetic fieldThe measurement of the permeability is relative to the material's permeability in a vacuum.μr is concerned. If μr is close to 1, the material has low permeability.
In daily life, we often encounterUsing a magnet to determine if it's stainless steel is actually a very incorrect method of judgment.。
Stainless steel is categorized intoAustenitic stainless steel and Martensitic stainless steel, wherein201, 304, 316, and 316L are Austenitic stainless steels without magnetic properties; whereas 420, 430, 440, and 440C are Martensitic stainless steels, commonly known as "rustproof iron" in our country. Why is it called "rustproof iron"? It's because it has magnetic properties. However, not all magnetic corrosion resistance is poor, let alone that magnetic means it's iron. Among them, 440 and 440C are top performers in stainless steels, known as special steel. They offer excellent corrosion resistance and high hardness, making them stainless steel bearing steels, widely used in high-precision manufacturing industries.
Therefore, we cannot simply determine if something is stainless steel based on whether it attracts or does not attract a magnet. So 440 Stainless Steel BallOf course, it's made of stainless steel, and it's high-quality stainless steel, too.

Your concerns and questions, we address one by one here:
How to select steel balls?
(1). If you need high hardness and wear resistance, opt for bearing steel balls, followed by carburized carbon steel balls.
(2). If you require welding a low-hardness, unheated carbon steel ball, commonly known as an iron ball.
(3). For superior rust prevention, opt for stainless steel balls, available in grades 304, 316, and 316L, with increasing rust prevention effectiveness.
(4). For excellent rust prevention and high hardness, choose 440 grade stainless steel balls.
(5). For higher precision, opt for a higher grade; the smaller the number, the higher the grade, and the better the precision.
If the above doesn't clarify your question or you're still unsure about the specific type of steel ball you need, feel free to contact our customer service. Clearly explain your application, and our professional team will provide you with a specialized answer to ensure your satisfaction!
