Difference between grinding steel balls and wear-resistant steel balls:
Frequent contacts with steel balls often result in hearing...ToWear-resistant steel balls and grinding steel ballsAre these two discussing the same thing, just with different names? Actually, they do have differences.
Wear-resistant steel ballAs the name impliesThese are wear-resistant steel balls, and for them to be truly wear-resistant, they must have a high hardness, typically achieving Rockwell hardness HRC58 or above. Such steel balls can truly offer low wear, as referred to in technical terms as low wear rate. In reality, many steel balls with hardness below HRC58 are also labeled as wear-resistant, but they are actually not very wear-resistant and have high wear rates.
Grinding Steel BallsSteel balls for grinding, as the name implies, are used for grinding materials and serve as a grinding medium. Therefore, wear-resistant steel balls are also a type of grinding steel ball. Any ball that is used for grinding, whether wear-resistant or not, is classified as a grinding steel ball. For example, cast balls used in large quantities (high chrome balls, medium chrome balls, low chrome balls), forged balls, rolled steel balls, and more.
The abrasion resistance of grinding steel balls is crucial, and the key data is the hardness test, which can be conducted using a Rockwell hardness tester. Practice shows that steel balls with HRC60 or above have twice the service life of those with HRC40-50.
Of course, it's not always the case that the harder the better; it depends on what is being ground, and the choice of abrasive should be based on the hardness of the material.Steel BallFairly suitable.

1.Wire Drawing (Threading)Draw the wire material through a drawing machine to the required wire diameter.
2.Cold Forging (Metal Forming):The drawn wire is placed into the cold heading machine with steel balls, where it is formed into ball blanks by the steel mold inside.
3.Luminous sphere:The two cast iron grinding balls in the light ball mill press and grind the cold-drawn ball blanks, removing the outer ring and two pole points on the blanks.
4Soft Balls:The two cast iron grinding balls in the soft ball machine grind the ball blanks, achieving the required ball diameter and surface roughness.
5.Heat treatment:The balls are placed into a heat treatment furnace for carbon diffusion, followed by quenching and tempering to achieve a specific carbon diffusion layer, hardness, toughness, and crush load.
6Hard Milling. The abrasive disc in the grinder applies pressure to grind the heat-treated ball blanks, removing the black oxide layer on the ball surface and correcting the ball's precision.
7.Polishing and Cleaning:RefinedThe grinding ball blanks are finely ground in the precision grinding machine to achieve the required precision and finish for the finished product.
Polished CleaningPour the balls into the polishing drum, spin it, and clean the balls with polishing cleaner mixed with water to achieve a clean and glossy surface.
8.Appearance selection:Manually inspect the steel ball surface for any defects and use a micrometer to measure roundness, batch diameter variation, and use a surface roughness meter to check the surface roughness as the final inspection.
9.Packaging:TranslateSteel Ball / Stainless Steel Ball / Bearing Steel BallApply rust preventive oil, then pack into cardboard boxes or woven bags and seal.

We address all your concerns and answer your questions one by one:
How to select steel balls?
(1). If you're looking for high hardness and wear resistance, go for the bearing steel ball with wear resistance; next would be the carbon steel ball after heat treatment.
(2). For welding, if you need a low-hardness, unheated carbon steel ball, commonly known as an iron ball.
(3). For superior rust prevention, opt for stainless steel balls, available in grades 304, 316, and 316L, with rust resistance improving in sequence.
(4) For excellent rust resistance and high hardness, opt for 440 stainless steel balls.
(5). For high precision, choose a higher grade; the smaller the number, the higher the grade, and the better the precision.
If the above does not answer your questions, and you're still unsure about the type of steel ball you need, feel free to ask our customer service. Clearly explain your application, and our professional staff will provide you with a detailed solution to ensure your satisfaction!
2. Quality Assurance
(1). Raw Material Assurance: Sourcing steel billets from major steel mills.
(2). Production Equipment Assurance: Introduction of advanced production equipment and testing instruments.
(3). Technical Staff Support: Over a decade of technicians staff rotating 24/7 to ensure production oversight and control.
(4). Rigorous production management system with strict constraints: stringent management, adherence to production regulations, traceable reverse accountability.
(5). A sealed and clean dust-free workshop: Ensuring the high precision production of precision steel balls.
3. Shipping Information
(1). Sample shipment via SF Express: A limited number of samples are available free of charge, with shipping fees collected upon delivery.
(2) Shipments under 300 kg use express services like Yousu Express, Best Express, Debang Logistics, Jiayi Logistics, and Shangqiao Logistics, etc.
(3) For orders over 300 kg, we use dedicated logistics. Generally, customers pick up at the city logistics center. If pickup at the county/district is required, please specify; additional delivery charges apply.
4. Packaging
We offer various packaging options including woven bags, cardboard boxes, pallets, iron drums, bottled, and ton bags, and can customize packaging to meet customer requirements.
5. Where is the shipment origin from?
Due to our factory being located in the countryside, logistics and express delivery are not convenient. Therefore, we have rented a large warehouse in the Liaocheng city's large logistics park to store goods and ship them to our customers.
6. Return & Exchange Policy
If it's our responsibility and the quality doesn't meet the standards, we will cover the round-trip shipping costs for returns and exchanges. If it's the buyer's responsibility, returns and exchanges are possible as long as it doesn't affect resale, with the buyer covering the shipping costs both ways.
