Application Fields:
440C stainless steel balls are commonly used in industries that demand high precision and corrosion resistance, such as aviation, aerospace, bearings, motors, high-precision instruments, valves, and oil.
Features:
The microstructure belongs to the martensitic type steel, with high production process requirements. There are relatively few companies in China capable of producing stainless steel 440C, so those that can produce 440C material are often hailed as having special stainless steel qualities. The heat treatment process is complex, prone to cracking, and requires high precision; it is one of the harder stainless steel balls for steel balls: HRC ≧ 58. The hardness is close to bearing steel balls but offers superior rust and corrosion resistance.
Comparison:
The balls made of 440 stainless steel offer superior rust and corrosion resistance, with increased hardness and improved wear resistance as well.
