Composition
HL52-2 Epoxy Asphalt Anti-corrosion Paint is a two-component coating made from epoxy resin, coal tar asphalt, pigments, fillers, solvents, and hardeners.
Performance
The coating is hard, wear-resistant, has good adhesion to the substrate, excellent water resistance, antimicrobial, and offers good chemical resistance as well as certain insulating properties.
Application Scope
HL52-2 Epoxy Asphalt Coating boasts excellent corrosion resistance, as well as resistance to moisture, water, saltwater, soil, and microbiological agents. It also has certain insulating properties and can be widely used for corrosion protection on various equipment and facilities.
Pipe exterior anti-corrosion for oil, gas, and water transmission pipelines.
Corrosion protection for wastewater treatment ponds.
Coal mine shaft structure anti-corrosion.
Corrosion protection for steel and concrete structure facilities' surfaces. However, equipment exposed to sunlight is not recommended.
Corrosion-resistant for soil steel in severely saline-alkali land.
Corrosion protection for underwater parts of ports, docks, marine facilities, and ship hulls, as well as watertight compartments.
Construction Method
Colorant mixing
1.1 This product is a two-component paint, consisting of Component A and Component B. Before use, each component should be mixed thoroughly separately.
1.2 Ratio
Component A: Component B = 1:1
1.3 Ensure accurate measurement during blending, and mix thoroughly immediately after blending. After thorough mixing, let it mature for 15-30 minutes before use. In winter, when temperatures are low, extend the maturation time accordingly. Use the blended material within 2 hours to prevent thickening and solidification, which could lead to loss.
1.4 Apply this paint above 5°C; curing and cross-linking will be slower below this temperature.
2 Painting Methods
2.1 Surface Treatment: Steel surface is treated with shot blasting or sandblasting to achieve Sa2.5 grade or manually and mechanically cleaned to St3 grade.
2.2 Coating Methods: Brush painting and high-pressure airless spraying can be used.
2.3 Clean the tube surface promptly and apply the primer, followed by the topcoat or glass fiber wrapping. Wrap in a spiral pattern when applying the glass fiber, ensuring it is tight without creases, gaps, and overlaps by 20mm. Continue layer by layer until the design specifications are met. When wrapping the glass fiber, the direction should be opposite to the previous layer to enhance the tightness of the entire coating layer. The mesh of the top layer glass fiber should be fully covered by the topcoat, resulting in a shiny surface.
2.4 HL52-2 Epoxy Asphalt Paint is a two-component coating, which generally cannot be arbitrarily added with a thinner during use.

Safety Precautions
Construction site: No open flames allowed. Ensure good ventilation when working in sealed containers, and construction workers must wear protective masks. Do not perform patchwork on welding joints that have just been completed and are still hot. After construction, clean tools with a diluent.
Packaging and Storage
HL52-2 Epoxy Asphalt Coating, both A and B components are packaged in 20Kg iron drums.
This paint is flammable; storage warehouses must be well-ventilated and kept away from open flames and direct sunlight.
This paint is valid for one year from the date of manufacture. After one year, it can still be used upon passing inspection.
