Suction pump internal working medium pressure and velocity change curves
Water at a certain pressure, supplied from the jet pump, enters the nozzle through the water chamber. The nozzle converts the pressure energy of the water into kinetic energy, causing the water to jet out at high speed, creating a high vacuum inside the chamber and drawing the vapor-gas mixture from the condenser. The mixture then enters the diffuser, where the water velocity slows down and the pressure gradually increases, exiting the diffuser at a pressure slightly above atmospheric. An anti-reverse valve is installed at the inlet of the air intake chamber to prevent the working water from being drawn into the condenser if the vacuum pump fails.
