Surge rod for lightning protection of buildings, generally consisting of a surge rod base, surge rod body, and surge terminal, with a height range of:0.4 meters - 20 meters. Lightning rods below 12 meters are commonly used for installation on the rooftops and exterior walls of buildings, as well as on the rooftops and sides of metal structures, the sides or tops of cooling towers, the tops or sides of metal tanks, boiler tops or sides, and various other building structures. The rod body is preferably made of steel pipe, while the lightning terminal rod should be made of round steel. After welding, the entire lightning rod should be hot-dipped galvanized. The terminal end of the lightning terminal rod should be hemispherical, with a small bending radius of 4.8mm and a large one of 12.7mm. The connection point between steel pipes should have the through-bolts installed before welding with electric weld nuts.
