Regularly inspect the integrity of the warehouse rooftop cover and the tightness of the bolts. Schedule periodic maintenance for the rooftop channels to prevent leaks from the feed opening, channel plates, and rain shields, as well as rust spots on the exterior components. Rust spots should be addressed promptly. Regularly check the overall welded rooftop and inspect the welds, determining necessary preventative measures based on the inspection findings. Also, periodically inspect the exterior corrosion and leakage conditions of the process holes (including ventilation holes, personnel access openings, temperature measurement holes, and brackets, etc.).
During each filling or emptying of the silo, inspect for any deformation of the silo walls, and pay particular attention to areas such as the clearances and support legs. Keep a detailed record of the inspection for archiving. Check the condition of the silo wall corrosion and apply anti-corrosion treatment based on the inspection findings.
After each emptying, inspect the body of the storage tank for door sealing integrity, any cracking around the door, and the connection between the reinforcing ribs and the tank wall. For conical bottom tanks, examine the root area of the cone. Based on the inspection, apply anti-corrosion or other treatments to the cone. Annually, check the fastening bolts of the straight climbing ladder for looseness and inspect the materials for damage. Apply anti-corrosion or other treatments as needed based on the inspection.
So, when in use, consider how to protect it; good protection can extend its usability and also allow for timely detection of any damage to the steel silo.
