Gisela 12 rootstock has a robust root system with numerous fine roots, strong nutrient absorption capabilities, and better anchoring and resistance to waterlogging compared to Gisela 6. While Gisela 12 may not be as productive in the early stage as Gisela 6, it offers stable yields, ensuring high and consistent production. It is highly adaptable to various soil types and performs best in fertile, well-ventilated soils. Additionally, its excellent anchoring and resistance to waterlogging make it an ideal rootstock for windy and rainy regions.
Gisela 12 rootstock exhibits significant dwarfing effects, has good compatibility with large cherry seedlings for grafting, and is particularly suitable for self-pollinating varieties; even without thinning, the fruits produced after grafting do not shrink or over-fruit. Gisela 12 rootstock cuttings are easy to root, and as a newly introduced dwarfing rootstock, it has been rapidly promoted in recent years.
Choose cherry rootstocks with caution, based on the local climate and the inherent characteristics of the rootstock!
