Selection Steps and Principles for Marine Wire Selection in the Marine Wiring System
1. Select the appropriate cable model based on the cable's purpose, installation location, and working conditions.
2. Select the appropriate cable cross-section based on the operating schedule of electrical equipment, type of power source, cable conductor, and load current.
3. Based on the system short-circuit current calculation results, does the cable segment meet the required short-circuit capacity?
4. Adjust the rated current capacity of the cable based on the ambient temperature, and then determine if the allowable current of the cable exceeds the load current.
5. Adjust the rated current of the cable based on the bundling laying correction coefficient, and then determine if the allowable current of the cable exceeds the load current.
6. Verify line voltage drop and determine if it is less than the specified value.
7. Determine if the cable and protective device are coordinated based on the setting value of the protective device; if not, assess whether it's possible to alter the appropriate protective device or setting value. Otherwise, select a suitable cable cross-section again.
