Product Features
1. Implementing contactless torque transmission through magnetic induction principle
The conductor ring is connected to the motor shaft, and an air gap is maintained between the conductor ring and the permanent magnet assembly before the motor starts. As the conductor ring rotates with the motor, it cuts through the magnetic field lines of the permanent magnet rotor, thereby generating an induced eddy current in the conductor ring. This induced eddy current then produces an induced magnetic field. The strong magnetic coupling force between the induced eddy current magnetic field and the permanent magnet assembly's magnetic field enables contactless torque transmission between the motor and the load.
2. Adjust the air gap to regulate the transmitted torque and achieve torque limiting protection.
By adjusting the air gap size between the permanent magnet component and the conductor ring (within a certain range), the output torque can be regulated. When the load end is overloaded, the permanent magnet component moves radially inward to the atmosphere gap position, thereby sharply reducing the transmitted torque, providing limiting torque protection for the transmission system.
3. Soft Start
Generally, it is not allowed to start an electric motor directly with a load, as this can cause a significant surge in current: the surge current for starting with a general load is 5-7 times the normal operating current. For starting with a heavy load, the surge current can even reach 10-20 times the normal operating current. The immense surge current can pose serious harm to the safety of circuit operation and the operation of other electrical equipment. Using a KTR permanent magnet torque limiter, the starting current is only about 2.5 times the normal operating current, which is both energy-efficient and protects the power grid.
